Subtitle (App Store)
Short definition
The Subtitle is a 30-character field on the iOS App Store product page that appears beneath the app name and contributes to the app's keyword index for App Store search.
Detailed
Unlike Promotional Text, updating the Subtitle requires a new app version submission, so changes should be batched with binary releases. Because Subtitle words count toward App Store search, it is the second-most valuable SEO surface after the dedicated 100-character keyword field, and its phrasing should complement (not repeat) the app name.
Example
A habit tracker named 'Routiner' chooses a Subtitle of 'Daily habits & streak tracker' — 29 characters that broaden the searchable keywords to 'daily', 'habits', 'streak', and 'tracker' without duplicating 'routine' from the app name.
